Rural Rest and Recharge Station
Society’s knowledge of sustainability and the ever-growing issue of climate change has increased over the past two decades, but actions to combat this global issue have only been evident in recent years. Government focus on converting to electric vehicles (EV) has exponentially grown, with Australia experiencing a sixty-seven per cent increase in EV sales in 2016. However, this only accounted for zero-point-six per cent of total car sales. My Major Design Project creates a solution to the problem that Australia does not have enough charging stations with satisfactory facilities to combat an increasing number of EVs on the road. The EV charging stations will be situated in eight locations around New South Wales to encourage Australians to favour the purchase of an EV and reduce their carbon footprint.
