The Tragedies of Their Past
My Body of Work parallels historic human tragedies and animal extinction. Through the medium of clay, I have used satire and personification to cause the audience to ponder human tragedy and the growing loss of animal species. The monochromatic colour scheme presents the figurines as ghost-like, conveying a sense of the past. My ceramic works are deeply rooted in history, and that as humans, we do not always learn from the past.
